![]() ![]() ![]() Metal Slug 3 is the La Villa Strangiato, Echoes, or Master of Puppets of video games.Ĭlick to shrink.Yeah, X has just a few parts that keep it shy of being the best. It feels like not just closing out the Metal Slug trilogy, it is single handedly sending off an era of video games that twenty years on we still have not seen its equal or better. It is a battle of wills you against a team at the absolute top of their game. The first time going through, dropping credits like mad as you are certain to do, you would be forgiven for thinking that Nazca has taken residence inside of the cabinet producing an endless level on the fly daring you to pack it up and go home because they can keep going like this all day. The Final Mission is radio unfriendly as filtered through an arcade cabinet. You want to give enough spectacle and rise and fall without overexerting the audience. Similar to the wisdom of keeping a song radio friendly. The typical length of a stage in a game like this is around 3-5 minutes. Not that I think you are overly down on it, just to offer another perspective. If I could take a crack at defending the length of the final stage. I wrote this up a while back as a sort of soft defense of Metal Slug 3's final stage and the game as a whole. ![]()
